What belongs here, and what does not.

What this site is

SPELLPRINT is a place for players to share custom artwork for Magic: The Gathering proxies, and to print them at home for their own games. A proxy is a stand-in card. It is not a counterfeit, it is not sold, and it is not for tournament play.

We are fans, not Wizards of the Coast. Magic: The Gathering is a trademark of Wizards of the Coast LLC. They do not endorse this site, are not involved with it, and are not responsible for anything on it.

Nothing here is for sale, ever

Every card, every deck and every download on this site is free, and will stay free. We do not sell artwork, we do not sell decks, we do not sell prints, and there is no paid tier, membership or subscription that unlocks anything. Nothing you came here for is ever put behind a payment.

You may not sell anything you take from here either. Print it, sleeve it, play with it, give it to a friend. Selling proxies made from artwork on this site is not allowed, and it is the thing most likely to cause real legal trouble for you.

How this site is paid for

Hosting costs money, so rather than let you wonder, here is every way this site could ever earn any.

• Donations. Entirely voluntary. Nothing changes if you give and nothing changes if you do not. There is no perk, badge or unlocked feature for donating.
• Advertising. The site may carry ads. They pay for the servers. They will never gate, delay or degrade anything you came here for.
• Printing supply links. Guides here may link to cardstock, trimmers, sleeves and similar gear, and some of those links may earn a small commission from the retailer at no extra cost to you. We link to what we would actually use.

What you may upload

This is a fan site, and fan art is the entire point of it. Custom art of characters from anime, games, films, books and anywhere else is welcome here, the same way it is welcome on every art site on the internet.

What we ask is narrower than it sounds: have the right to upload the specific image you are uploading. In practice that means one of these is true.

• You made it. The straightforward case, and the one this site is built for.
• You have the artist's permission. Keep the message. If a claim ever comes in, it settles the matter in seconds.
• It is genuinely free to use, such as public domain work or work released under a licence that allows it. Read the licence rather than assuming.

Credit the artist, every time. There is a place for it on every card. Do it even when nothing obliges you to.

What you may not upload

• Another artist's work without their permission. This is the rule we care most about and act on fastest. Finding an image on Pinterest, DeviantArt or a search engine is not permission. Public to look at is not the same as free to use.
• Anything built to pass as a genuine card. If it could be sold to somebody as real product, it is a counterfeit. That is the one thing that turns proxies from tolerated into prosecuted, and it is not welcome here.
• Hateful, harassing or sexual content, anything illegal, or anything targeting a real private person.

Wizards' own artwork

Card frames, mana symbols, set symbols, holofoil stamps, the Magic logo and their typefaces belong to Wizards of the Coast. We do not hand those out. There is no frame template to download here, we will never build a tool that distributes their assets, and we will never help anybody produce something meant to pass as a real card.

Cards uploaded here are treated like everything else on this page. If Wizards, or any other rights holder, asks us to remove something, we remove it, quickly and without argument.

Our own preference, for what it is worth: the work we feature is original art in original frames. It looks better, it is entirely yours, and nobody can ever take it down.

Are proxies legal

For personal, non-tournament play, and with nothing sold, proxies are widely accepted and are what most kitchen table and Commander groups already use. The two things that change that answer are selling them and trying to pass them off as real cards. Both are off limits here.

Sanctioned tournaments do not allow proxies. Tell your playgroup what you are playing with, sleeve them so nobody is confused, and enjoy your game.

Report something

Every deck and every card on this site has a report button. Use it if you see stolen artwork, a counterfeit attempt, official Wizards assets, or anything in the "may not upload" list above. Reports are read by a person.

Copyright claims

If you own artwork that somebody has published here without your permission, we will take it down. You do not need a lawyer to ask.

What to send

• A link to the exact deck or card page.
• Enough about the original work for us to identify it, ideally a link to where you published it.
• Your name and how to reach you.
• A statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorised, and that the information you have given is accurate.

We act on valid notices promptly and will tell the uploader what was removed and why, so they can respond if they think it was a mistake.

Repeat infringers

Anyone who repeatedly publishes work they do not have the right to use loses access to publishing here. This is not a warning system we apply loosely, and it is not negotiable.

Your data

We do not run accounts. Publishing gives you a private edit link instead of a login, and that link is the only way to change or delete a deck later, so keep it somewhere safe. We do not ask for your email to browse, publish or download, and we do not track you across other websites.

What you save while browsing, such as liked decks and your print tray, is kept in your own browser and never reaches us. Clearing your browser data removes those, and there is no copy of them to restore, so keep your original image files. A deck you have published lives on SPELLPRINT itself until you delete it with your edit link, or until we remove it under this policy.
